Among the biggest challenges facing foster care is how to best engage individuals and corporations in the cause. As thousands of non-profits are competing for dollars, volunteers, and resources, foster care is suffering from both stigma and apathy among the American public.

Other sources cite a lack of coordination among supports and services. Foster care, according to a 2004 report published by The Packard Foundation, “is really not a cohesive system, but a combination of many overlapping and interacting agencies.” Local and regional agencies have not had a viable mechanism in which to collaborate, nor have they had a means to collectively effect change on a national level.

Until now.

The Kinverge foster care initiative is an innovative strategy to change outcomes for youth in foster care and was developed with input from alumni, foster parents, caseworkers, and child welfare professionals. It is a platform on which Americans can make a meaningful difference in the lives of kids across the country.

In forging community-based partnerships in 28 major U.S. cities, Kinverge is connecting individuals, corporations, agencies, foundations, local government, and faith-based groups around the needs of children and teens in the foster care system.
